Devo? Grace Jones? Whoever's conical headwear Giorgio Armani was channelling, the Philip Treacy UFO-esque fascinators certainly set the futuristic agenda in his spring/summer 2011 Armani Prive collection.

Metallic textures poured down the runway like shimmering gem-hued fluid, such were the glossy liquidity of the ruby, turquoise and emerald tones. Cropped jacket, gown and bell-bottom shapes flowed in harmony with the body whilst giant gemstone breastplates looked like semi-precious armour.
