Who said summer should be all cheery florals and ebullient, sunny hues? Well it seems many are massacring that theory as one of the prevailing colours at the S/S’10 shows was head-to-toe dreary greys. We’re not talking a mixed palette or charcoals, gun metals, pewter and so on but a dull, gloss-free slate grey. It was EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING: sweeping trenches, mixed casual separates, structured formalwear, blah blah blah… The miserable hue can de-feminize otherwise girly shapes like at Christian Dior and Collette Dinnigan and spans through military, tailoring and sportswear trends.
