LFW: Clements Ribeiro

Feb 28, 2011

Clements Ribeiro returned to LFW this season to give the new kids on the block a lesson in how to make clashing prints refined.  Lace melted into leopard print which in turn vanished amid gold and orange brocade. Romance, Darkly shouldn’t have worked. On paper it’s grotesque - violently loud colours, thick black crochet tights, chunky platform heels and prints that resemble an old woman’s dirty curtains; in reality it’s a triumph.
