While tiered ruffles are certainly feminine, they’re not necessarily girly. To avoid looking like Little Bo Peep sans crook and flock, flounces must be worked with tougher pieces ensure avoiding saccharine overload. Chloe’s and Givenchy’s gentle cream ruffles look positively etherial whereas Giles’ and Giambattisa Valli’s bold frills are anything but twee.
